Better Late than Never!

Tot School
Big Man is 18m

I know, I know, I'm late this week. But we've been having a crazy time with the boy's appointments and everything else this past week. So let's see what we've done.
We tried painting again with Luke, and he really liked it this time around.

Luke played with his LeapFrog laptop some to work on his letters.

Then he worked on his color and shape puzzles some.

He loves his shape turtle!

His shape sorter cookie jar is one of his favorites.

He spends a lot of time looking at books too.

Like I said, the boys both had doctors appointments this week, Luke is in the 65th percentile for his weight, 69th for height, and 99th for his head. The doctor is concerned with his lack of speech, so we'll be getting an evaluation done after the holidays. He also wants us to transition Luke to an open cup, so we started that last night at dinner.

That's about it for us this past week. We made Christmas presents for family too, but I can't post pics of that because I don't want to ruin the surprise. We'll be traveling this week, and Daddy will be home all next week, so we probably won't be back until after the new year.

Oh, and a glimpse of the cuteness that is "Bubba." I did a newborn shoot with him yesterday while Luke was napping. :)

Gathering My Thoughts and Jumping In (18m)

Tot School

So I haven't "officially" started tot school yet, but I'm working on getting my ideas all in one place and getting a list of things I need to get all together in one place. I'm basically working on compiling ideas for my 18 month old right now. I've got a list of things I want to get for his "tot trays" including seasonal items, kitchen type items, clips, jewels/gems, small containers, pipe cleaners, pom poms, stickers, paint trays, feathers, small jars, small pitchers, storage solutions, funnels, tongs, and of course, trays. But we're broke till payday, so my shopping spree is going to have to wait till Wednesday. I think I'm going to have to check out Target's $1 books too. As for where I'm getting my ideas, basically I'm using 1+1+1=1's tot school posts that she has organized by age. Until I can get to the store I'm improvising though, so Luke's been transferring beans from one container to another, I tried to get him to use a measuring cup to pour them, but he wouldn't have any of that. I made him some edible clay out of peanut butter, flour, sugar, and butter, but when I gave it to him he just ate it. I don't blame him, it tasted like peanut butter cookie dough. He's really gotten into coloring lately, but only with crayons. I tried giving him markers to draw with, but he was trying to use the wrong end and he got upset when I tried to show him the right way to do it. He tried finger painting for the first time, but he decided he wanted to eat the paint too, so that went away really quick. He loves books though, and he will sit forever and read. He loves his shape sorter too, it's a cookie jar and it sings when you reach into it. I would have pictures, but I only just found my camera yesterday before we took the kids to see Santa at the Marine Corps Museum. Luke was NOT fond of St Nick, but Nicholas slept the whole time, and both the big man and Mrs Claus loved cuddling on him.

I know I'm rambling, but I think we need to get a new printer too before his 2nd birthday so I can start printing off packets as well. Hopefully next week's post will have pictures and be a bit more interesting. Now, to go plan next week as well as possible! :)
